Andy Gipson Bio

Gipson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Mississippi College in 1999 and a Juris Doctor in 2002 from Mississippi College School of Law. He also managed a Simpson County cattle operation for over 20 years, and a tree farm in 2004. Gipson is a member the Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association as well as the Simpson County Development Foundation. Gipson was the House District 77 representative in the state House of Representatives between 2008-2018. He served as the chairman of House Judiciary B Committee 2012-2018, and the chairman of the Ethics Committee 2016-2018. He was also a member of the House Agriculture, Appropriations and Ways and Means and County Affairs, Insurance and Municipalities and Transportation committees. Since 2011, he has been a minister at Gum Springs Baptist Church. Gipson and Leslie have four children, Joseph, Benjamin and Abigail. They live on a small farm in Simpson County.
