United Health Care, the only provider that offered coverage in all 82 counties of Mississippi, pulled out from the Mississippi exchange and 30 other states in May. This was the first adjustment. Humana, a second provider, stopped offering coverage in 46 counties in 2016 and now covers 32 in 2017. The state also saw an average increase in premiums of 43 percent. Magnolia/Ambetter revealed in September that they were expanding their coverage to Mississippi for 2017, going from 52 counties to all 82. Magnolia/Ambetter also increased premiums by 7 percent on average. Last year, 108,672 Mississippians signed-up for coverage during open enrollment. Open enrollment 2017 is open from November 1 through January 31.
