U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills sentenced Edenfield at the Oxford federal courthouse. Mills, a well-known storyteller and writer, sentenced Edenfield to probation. He also ordered Edenfield read Chapter 19 from Faulkner’s “A Light in Aug” and sent him a five-page report. Edenfield, an ex-student at Ole Miss and Georgia resident, pleaded guilty March 24 to a single count misdemeanor. He was accused of helping and aiding another person in intimidating black students and workers at Oxford University. After the statue draping was discovered, he and Phillip Graeme Harris, his former student, were both arrested. Harris was sentenced to a six month term in prison. Harris was sentenced to a six-month prison term.
