Gov Tate Reeves’ daughter tests positive for COVID-19

“She is feeling OK, but she could still use prayers!” Reeves tweeted, “Please pray for her momma!” “Our whole family will be tested again and isolating at the moment.” This prayer request I would like to share. My youngest daughter just tested positive for COVID-19. Although she feels fine, I could still use prayers for her momma! Please pray for her momma!

The entire family will be tested once again, and we will remain isolated for the moment. Keep safe and God bless! Reeves’ office had postponed an earlier Tuesday press conference. The governor was scheduled to speak about the sharp rise in COVID-19 case in Mississippi. Reeves lifted the statewide mask mandate, making Mississippi the first state in America to do so. He also relaxed restrictions on social gatherings. The number of cases has increased since then. Mississippi’s daily average COVID-19 case count surpassed 900 this week. It has continued to rise since then. Tuesday’s 933-case jump brings the average daily case count to 947. Only 20 days have passed since the beginning of the pandemic. This week saw a 42% rise in the average number of new cases. It is the 26th largest increase since the pandemic started. It was also the largest jump not seen in the March/April and June/July surges. This week’s case surge saw more than 6,600 cases per week for the state. That’s 223 cases per 100,000 residents, the highest since August peak summer cases.
