Mississippi voters will be asked Tuesday, November 3, whether they support legalizing medical marijuana in their state. A legislative amendment to an otherwise straightforward question on the ballot will make it more difficult to vote on this issue. Mississippi voters will choose between three options: * Approve Initiative 65. More than 228,000 Mississippians signed the petition. However, opponents claim that it is too permissive, and was written to benefit the marijuana industry and not patients. * Approve Initiative 65A. This would allow legislators to regulate a medical cannabis program. However, opponents claim that it is a rope-adope by lawmakers to stop medical marijuana use and weaken the vote for Initiative 65. * Vote against both. Voters who do not vote for both can still vote in favor of one of the initiatives, if one passes. You can read all our coverage on the medical marijuana ballot measure. This is how your choices will appear on the third page.
