Miller has been a member of the W staff since 2001. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Administration, Chief Financial Officer and the University’s Chief Administrative Officer. Her interim presidency will begin July 1. Miller spoke on a conference call with Mississippi Today. She stated that “We have a really strong team here at the W and I believe that my appointment shows how this IHL board acknowledges all that we’ve achieved under Dr. Glenn] Boyce.” “We have set high goals and the campus has collaborated to create plans. It’s important that we keep our momentum going forward to reach those goals.” According to current IHL policy, an interim presidency cannot be considered for permanent university president while the search process is ongoing. A spokeswoman for IHL stated that the search process had not started. Miller stated that she would like to be the permanent president of the MUW. Jim Borsig is the 14th president of the W. He has held that position since 2012. In 2017, he announced his retirement plans. Trustee C.D. Miller said that Nora Miller has over 15 years of experience in senior leadership at Mississippi University for Women. Smith, President of IHL stated in a statement. “She has been an integral part Dr. Borsig’s leadership team, and will do an outstanding job as Acting president.”
