Mississippi Today and six years of sports

This was the story that made 2018 one of my favourite years. A month prior to the Super Bowl, which featured the Eagles and Patriots in a thrilling matchup, I was able to talk with Larry Foles, a native Petal man and father of Super Bowl Champion quarterback Nick Foles. The Nick’s version of Larry’s “rags-to riches” story is a good example of Larry’s. Like many Mississippians, Larry rose from humble beginnings to develop grit and determination that he was able to use for his son’s success on the biggest stage of sports. These stories are unique to Mississippi and show the world why Mississippians excel in basketball, football, baseball, and Olympic sports. These stories have been my passion for many years. It never ends. Our current members: Your donation to our newsroom will help to make Mississippi a better place. We are grateful for your support. Without you, our work would not be possible.
