Mississippi Today officially turns six years old

Let me end by sharing some highlights from last year’s coverage. We will continue our coverage of MDHS welfare scandal in 2021. Anna Wolfe, an investigative reporter, reported on the amount of money Brett Farve and others in the case owed to the state. We are continuing to monitor this story. An entire page is dedicated to tracking down those involved and whether they are being held responsible. We covered the Jackson water crisis which left many people in the Metro Area without water. Alex Rozier, our reporter, followed the city’s water problems. Our political reporters followed the lawsuit against the city. Our education reporter tracked the impact of the water crisis on Jackson’s schools. This year, the coverage continues to be followed. We appreciate you taking us on a trip back in time this week to celebrate the hard work of our journalists who are dedicated to making Mississippi a better state. It is encouraging to see so many people share the same passion and are willing to help us in any way they can. We look forward to many more years of serving the people of Mississippi and all across the country! To all our members: We are truly grateful for your generosity. Mississippi Today is for people, powered by people. Without you, our work wouldn’t be possible. Our stories would have no meaning if you weren’t willing to share your experiences and thoughts with our reporters. We are grateful for your participation in this journey. You can help us celebrate our sixth anniversary and continue to create meaningful projects by making a recurring gift today. We are close to reaching our goal of welcoming 60 more members to celebrate our sixth anniversary.
