Ole Miss, Boyce launch athletic director search

Mike Glenn, a retired FedEx executive and Ole Miss alumnus, will chair the committee. Five of the six remaining members were former Ole Miss athletes. Archie Manning has also agreed to be an advisor to Boyce as well as to the search committee. * David Dellucci (ex-Ole Miss All-American baseball player, Major Leaguer), who now works as an analyst at the SEC Network, and resides in Baton Rouge, will be part of the search committee. Peggie GillomGranderson is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ women’s chaplain at Ole Miss. She is a former Ole Miss basketball star and coach. * Jesse Mitchell, a former Ole Miss football star and past president the Ole Miss M-Club. David Morris, a former Ole Miss football player, is the founder of QB Country. QB Country offers athletic training and development in Mobile, where they train NFL, college, and high school quarterbacks. Ron Rychlak is an Ole Miss law professor who has been the university’s faculty representative for athletics since 2007. * Wesley Walls, a former Rebel football star and College Football Hall of Famer who played 15 years in the NFL and was a five time Pro Bowler. Walls resides in Charlotte. Manning and Glenn co-chaired Ole Miss’ 2012 athletic director search that led to Ross Bjork being hired. Boyce stated that he expected the search to proceed quickly, although a timetable wasn’t announced. Boyce stated in a prepared press statement that he had spoken with all members of the search committee and that they were ready to start working to find the right person to lead Ole Miss Athletics. “The entire committee is committed in ensuring we have the strongest pool possible of candidates,” Boyce stated in a prepared press release.
