Public to weigh in on school funding revamp

The meeting will feature representatives from EdBuild, a New Jersey-based non-profit that was hired by the legislative leadership in order to review and possibly rewrite Mississippi’s Adequate Education Program. The meeting will take place in Room 113 at the Mississippi State Capitol. Philip Gunn, Speaker of the House, and Lt. Governor. Tate Reeves released a press release Monday announcing the public meeting. The release states that the public meeting will last no longer than one hour and that each comment must not exceed three minutes. Written recommendations are also being accepted and can be sent to schoolfinance@ls.ms.gov. The meeting will be conducted by the Senate and House Education Committee chairs.
