Charlie Daniel was the Knoxville Journal’s long-serving editorial cartoonist. He was 89 and was doing some of the best work, but he was then laid off. After a 60-year career in Knoxville, he was finally laid off. He was thrown out of his job. Charlie isn’t going to lie. He isn’t quitting. He is currently learning how to draw with the iPad Pro. He can now animated his cartoons. Charlie can choose what he does next, but it is his choice. That is what makes Charlie so inspiring.
