Twenty bills discussed in 90 minutes by the Senate

* The following bills were rejected by senators: * A bill that would protect names of employees, relatives and pharmacies that provide execution drugs from being made public would have been among them. * The members also refused to support a bill to prohibit “sanctuary towns,” which are cities that grant undocumented immigrants certain levels of legal immunity. * A bill to designate synthetic marijuanaoids (commonly known as “spice”) as a Schedule I drug was also considered by the Senate. This would allow for them to be used in situations where there is little medical expertise. The Senate authored all three bills and they were sent to the House for amendment. The Senate amendments were not approved by the House. On Wednesday, the bills went to conference for discussion between both houses. The Senate passed a bill to continue exempting agricultural products manufactured in Mississippi that are sold from the place where they were first produced.
