As part of the Community Digital Scholars Program, a partnership between EVERFI, an educational technology company, and the Community Foundation, the course will be taught in the Mississippi Delta to fourth-12th graders. Barkley stated that he was born in Alabama during the Civil Rights Era. He also said that Round Mound Media, Barkley’s production company will create documentary content in collaboration with Wondros, an LA-based creative and production agency. “We are incredibly excited to collaborate with the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, Charles Barkley and to offer this digital initiative which makes African-American History readily available and allows students from the Mississippi Delta to reimagine themselves through the lens of historical,” stated Tom Davidson, CEO of EVERFI.
