Two weeks remain before the deadline for registering to vote in November’s general election. It is Monday October 5. What can you do now to prepare for the elections? Below is the 2020 Voter Guide. Are you unsure if your registration is valid? You can search your name on the website of the Secretary-of-State to find out if it is registered. Are you not registered? Register to vote in general election by October 5, 2020, 5:00 PM. The November General Elections are open to all applicants who have registered in person at the Circuit Clerks’ Offices by 5:00 p.m., and who have mailed registration applications no later that October 5. Register through the Secretary-of-State’s Office. APPLY HERE Locate your polling location by visiting the Mississippi Secretary Of State’s Office, and entering your address. FIND YOUR POLLING LOCATE What documents do you need to bring with you to your polling station or the Circuit Clerk’s office to absentee vote? Check out the list of acceptable IDs from the Secretary of State to see if you require a Mississippi Voter Identity Card. VIEW HERE Save Tuesday, November 3rd, for your General Election Day. Set up a notification to be notified in advance. The polls will open at 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. A person who is under doctor-imposed quarantine due to COVID-19, or caring for someone under a physician’s quarantine can vote early in 2020. *Currently, legal proceedings are ongoing to determine who is eligible to vote early under the exception to coronavirus. Today, September 21, the absentee ballot was made available at the local circuit clerk’s offices. Local circuit clerks can also accept absentee and early voting requests. Local circuit clerks can help people vote early in person. Contact the local circuit clerks to request a ballot. You must complete the ballot application and have it notarized. If the application is eligible, it must be returned. The person will then receive a vote. A notarized copy of the ballot must also be returned if applicable to state law._x000D
