Nonprofit news puts the power where it belongs with the people

Because it places the power where it belongs, with you, the people, non-profit news makes a positive impact on our state. It gives us all the tools we need to be active participants in civic life, and to make informed decisions that are in the best interests of our families and communities. As we enter the last two months of an unpredictable year, we reflect on the impact that 2020 has had on our newsrooms and state. Because the world changes and so does the need of our readers. Our mission is to ensure Mississippians have the information they need to understand the issues at hand. This includes those who don’t have the means to pay. We can’t do this without you. We rely on donations to support our work as a non-profit newsroom. We are asking Mississippians to take part in this initiative. We are participating in NewsMatch from now through December 31, a national matching gift campaign that drives donations for nonprofit news organizations like ours. NewsMatch will match up to $5,000 of your monthly donations or double any one-time gifts, all up until 12x. This funding helps us to continue reporting to our clients for many more years. It is now. Our trusted journalism has never been more important. Your donation will be doubled if you give today to NewsMatch. You can find out more about Mississippi Today’s impact by donating today.
