Aimee Nezhukumatathil Mississippi Writers on Mississippi Politics

Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Mississippi author and Emerging Reporters Fellow Brittany Brown were the third events in the Mississippi Writers on Mississippi Politics Series. Aimee Nezhukumatathil is author of a book on nature essays called WORLD OF WONDERS IN PRAISE of FIREFLIES & OTHER ASTONISHMENTS. It was also a finalist in the Kirkus Prize for non-fiction and four poetry collections. Her writing has been recognized with fellowships from the Mississippi Arts Council and the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award in poetry, National Endowment of the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation. Her writings have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, ESPN, Best American Poetry, and ESPN. She is a professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Mississippi’s MFA Program.
